Pastor Paul & Thelma Moutloatse are the senior and founding pastors of Elyon Villa Ministries and have been in ministry for over 30 years.
Pastor Paul received his call into ministry in 1987. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church at the time. Pastor Paul then registered with Hebron Bible College and got his Advanced Diploma in Ministries.
In 1990, Pastor Paul along with Pastor Thelma and their daughter joined New Covenant Christian Centre, where they pastored one of the branches in the East Rand, Gauteng, South Africa for 14 years.
In 2004 Pastor Paul & Thelma and their children relocated to the UK.
In 2012, Pastor Paul was led by God to start Elyon Villa Ministries. The vision given was that Elyon Villa Ministries is to be a spirit-filled church, thriving in displaying and telling others of the love of Jesus, discipleship, spirit-led weekly gatherings and reaching out the community.
The ministry was then initiated in October 2013, its founding members are Pastor Paul and his family. The official launch of the church was in Daveyton, South Africa and its central functions were based there. However, after much prayer it was decided it would be best for Elyon Villa to be permanently based in the UK.
We hold our weekly local gatherings every Sunday.
We also meet on Wednesday evenings for our in-depth Bible study sessions where we explore God’s word.
We also partner with several outreach initiatives as a means of serving our local communities.
We’re based in the city of Gloucester in Gloucestershire in the South West of England.
Although we’re a non-denominational church, there are a set of core beliefs that we hold on to as a church:
We believe in one God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Creator of all things.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died and was buried; He rose again, ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is true God and true man.
We believe that the whole Bible in its entirety is the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct.
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of those who have said yes to Jesus, and the eternal punishment of the lost. We believe in the personal visible return of Christ to the earth and the establishing of His Kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, and the final judgment.
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to everyone who chooses to place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation cannot be earned; it is a gift from God. We believe in divine healing, through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ, and that healing is included in redemption.
We believe in sanctification by the Holy Spirit, and we believe in personal holiness, purity of heart and life. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as distinct from the new birth, in speaking with tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4), in the gifts of the Spirit, and the evidence of the fruit of the spirit. We believe that all of these are available to believers.
We believe in water baptism, that it is an outward expression of an inward reality, raised to life in Jesus.
We believe in evangelism and missionary work in accordance with the Christian commission (Matthew 28:19)
El-Elyon is one of the many names ascribed to God, it means the Most High God.
Pastor Paul felt it significant to call our church Elyon-Villa Ministries – a house carrying the presence of the Most High God.
Elyon Villa Ministries exists to spread the reality of the gospel to the nations.
Simply put our goal is to tell as many as we can about the gift of Jesus which God has freely offered by trusting in Him and embracing God setting things right. We believe that this can be done not only with our words but with the corresponding actions.
Pastor Paul & Thelma believe that it is essential that each person that is part of Elyon Villa Ministries recognise that they have their own unique traits and gifts to offer and encourage and support everyone to nurture their own relationship with God.
Elyon Villa Ministries believes that God honours us serving our local communities.
